As a mark of respect to all those affected by the Easter Sunday terror attacks, Cinnamon Life together with the Royal Shakespeare Company and GWB Entertainment, have decided to postpone the Colombo tour of Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical to 2020.

The musical was scheduled to be presented in Colombo in June 2019. Due to prior commitments of the World Tour, the Musical will be available only next year. The new dates will be announced shortly.

Speaking on behalf of the International producers, GWB Director, Paul Warwick Griffin, stated, “In light of the recent tragic events in Sri Lanka, GWB Entertainment will be working with our presenting partners at Cinnamon Life to reschedule the upcoming international tour of Matilda the Musical which was due to play in Colombo at the Nelum Pokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre from the 5th- 9th June 2019. The show’s originating producers, The Royal Shakespeare Company, as well as the entire cast, crew and creative team join GWB in sending our heartfelt condolences to the families of the many affected by these appalling acts of violence.Matilda is a story that speaks so much of triumph over adversity and GWB and the The Royal Shakespeare Company remain committed to bringing this remarkable story to Sri Lanka.”

Full refunds will be made within 14 days from today (29th April 2019). Tickets purchased via credit card will be re-imbursed to the same card.

Payments made by cash will be reimbursed by cheque. We will contact you via email for cheque collection.

Current ticket holders will be given priority before the official public release of the new show dates.
