Crowds screamed and danced as award winning international rapper Tinie Tempah performed at the Electric Peacock Festival on April 27 in Colombo.
The show itself started late though the tickets had mentioned 7pm and when people got there some bands were still doing sound checks and rehearsing.
Djs later played music to keep the audience on their feet as more and more people poured in to the grounds.
And on the sidelines of the main show there was also a break-dance competition and skateboarding as well as an arts corner by the Academy of Design.
Before some of the main performers took the stage a group of young dancers also thrilled the audience with their fast moves.
Several long breaks in-between almost every act had most audience members disappointed as it broke the flow in the excitement.
The people who purchased VIP tickets, which was priced higher than the normal tickets, were also disappointed as the VIP area was hardly different to the normal area except for maybe a few tables and chairs.
The New Young Pony Club from England were among the groups that performed at the Electric Peacock Festival.
New Young Pony Club is an English electronic music band from London, formed in 2004. The band consists of members from London, Hereford, Cambridge and Bromley. Their influences are prominently from post-punk and New Wave.
Nadro, made up of a group of drummers then added a bit of flavor to the show with their unique performance.
Eventually, close to midnight, the man himself, Tinie Tempah, was led on stage to the screams of the packed audience at the venue.
Tempah performed some of his best songs including probably his biggest hit ‘written in the stars’ which was a word wide smash.
At the end of the show Tempah tweeted saying it was “a night I’ll never forget!!! Thank you Sri Lanka you were awesomeeeee!”
